# Pos5 canary — EtherGold owns POG-CC COM

Order matters (two CDC owners will fight).

## 1. Deploy code

Pull/sync `EtherGold/dev` tip **3.1.0.4** and DyzineFrame **2026-08-12-c** to pos5.

## 2. Point DF off Heltec CDC first

In `~/DyzineFrame/config.ini`:

```ini
pogcc_com_owner = ethergold
```

Restart DF **locally** on the Pi UI session (`~/DyzineFrame/runit.sh` or supervisor). Confirm log:

`pogcc_com_owner=ethergold — skipping DF USBCDC thread`

Heltec may show USB FAILED until step 3 — expected.

## 3. Enable EG COM service

cd ~/EtherGold/dev
bash install_pogcc_com_service.sh
cat /run/ethergold/pogcc-com.status
journalctl -u ethergold-pogcc-com -n 40 --no-pager
```

Heltec OLED should clear **ETHERGOLD USB FAILED**.

## 4. Verify

- Kill DF / let supervisor restart → Heltec stays connected
- Credits: play or force Heltec `/credits` path
- Door/error flags still drive DF video
- `curl -s http://127.0.0.1:31234/pogcc/hb-state`

## 5. Rollback (<10 min)

sudo systemctl stop ethergold-pogcc-com
# config.ini: pogcc_com_owner = dyzineframe
# restart DF locally
```
